Talend ESB SE is a standards-based connectivity layer used to integrate distributed systems across functional, enterprise, and geographic boundaries. Capabilities include messaging, Web services, intelligent routing, and data transformation. Its modular, pluggable architecture allows it to be easily expanded to suit most enterprise requirements, and it is available under the open source Apache license.

Composite Application Assembly

Architected around a modular, lightweight architecture, it allows users to build composite applications for reuse across multiple projects.

Team Collaboration

Talend ESB EE facilitates collaboration between team members by allowing them to store and share information while preserving version integrity throughout the lifecycle of the integration project.   The Talend Repository further facilitates best practices and collaboration in integration projects by storing ESB development and operations artifacts – such as projects, integration patterns, metadata and other items – and allowing them to be shared among a team of developers or administrators. Talend Repository encapsulates Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) best practices, by allowing multiple repositories to be deployed. Software artifacts are versioned and can be promoted between repositories, depending on the stage within the development lifecycle process.

Role-based Access Control

Talend Administration Center supports role-based access control (RBAC) such that only administrators with the appropriate privileges can setup and deploy ESB instances, using the secured repository.

Integrated Artifact Repository

The Talend Repository facilitates best practices and collaboration in integration projects by storing ESB development and operations artifacts – such as projects, integration patterns, metadata and other items – and allowing them to be shared among a team of developers or administrators. Talend ESB includes Service Activity Monitoring to support the drilldown into inter-process application and data service events; this event-based monitoring capability tracks a message across multiple service invocations and allows users to perform in-depth analysis to address service level agreements (SLAs) for synchronous and asynchronous messaging patterns.
